Ink Blot Character Design-what is it? Well it's pretty clear in the name, I took an ink blot or splatter I had created and turned it into a character!

For me, this project was to help with understanding the process of character design. A character is not always born through hundreds of sketches. Sometimes a character is born through a spontaneous flick of the wrist!

The first step in this project was to let go of the traditional sketching method. I grabbed a large brush and a bottle of ink and covered my pages in ink splatters. 

After looking at all of my splatters, one stuck out to me. This splatter resembled a hooded figure with a parasite on his arm. With that, I began to sketch up a strong figure with a trusty creature clinging to him.
